Who was Comenius?
  • Born in what is today the Czech republic, Jan Amos Komensky (1592-1670) was a famous educator. He was a thinker, philosopher, writer and educator.
  • He strongly believed that the basis
  • of society should be an educated
  • citizenry. Schola ludus
  • or school through play - was the
  • main credo of his project for a new
  • type of school.

  • Preparatory visits (deadline: 10 weeks before the trip)

  • deadline for decentralized projects: 1 February 2006, Project may be carried out bw: 1 August 2006- 31 July 2007
  • Deadline for centralized projects:
    • Pre-proposals: 1 November 2005
    • Main proposals: 1 March 2006
